DORA JAR - WEBB MAGAZINE’S ARTIST IN BLOOM - MARCH 2025

Dora Jar is an American alt-pop musician and she is Artist in Bloom for March for her recent growth opening for Gracie Abrams on her EU tour this month and last. Her recent album, ‘No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire’, has that bedroom pop unique production, that catches audiences on first listen – perfect for an opener slot. This upbeat production mixed with incredible vocals matches for a great pop album that is original in style, yet has influences of Lorde. Her most popular songs being, “Ragdoll” and “No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire” She also sticks to that sort of mystical style in her aesthetic, referencing elves and fairies and creating this world in her performance, and branding but is still authentically herself in her work and songwriting.

One unique thing she has done recently as an opener, is put on her own smaller shows when Gracie postponed a few shows due to illness. These were at small venues, where the price was only to cover the venue costs, to put on a show still for the people who were intending to go originally. This showed her connection and care to the audiences, in which people in return, became obsessed with her music. She also played Gracie’s music here and there, which allowed everyone still to come together and enjoy music, with Gracie herself being moved by this. She played her own music, and brought an incredible stage presence to her work in these shows and the opening shows, that allows the audience to have that same electric energy.

This shows her character in the passion she takes for what she does, as well as her talents, which means she will only grow further in the future.

She has an upcoming Europe headline tour which fans can look forward to, and I believe she will only grow further as more people discover her work. This is why she is March’s ‘Artist in Bloom’.
